Giving Tuesday is just around the corner, and we couldn’t be more excited to invite you to join us in making a profound impact in our communities. For over 60 years, Catholic Charities of Southwest Kansas has been a beacon of hope and transformation for countless individuals and families. This year, our theme, "Invest in the Power of Compassion: Transform Lives This Giving Tuesday," reflects our unwavering commitment to dignity, respect, service, advocacy, hope, and collaboration.

Why Give to Catholic Charities of Southwest Kansas?

At Catholic Charities, we believe in going beyond addressing immediate needs. Our services range from infant adoption, pregnancy support, and counseling to emergency assistance, refugee resettlement, and disaster preparedness. We actively work on empowering individuals to create positive change in their lives while addressing systemic issues that perpetuate poverty and injustice. By collaborating with volunteers, donors, and community partners, we strive to create a stronger, more supportive community for all.

How You Can Make a Difference This Giving Tuesday

Partnering for Greater Impact

We are thrilled to collaborate with the Western Kansas Community Foundation (WKCF) and Golden Belt Community Foundation (GBCF) to maximize the impact of your generous contributions through matching funds. Here’s how you can participate:

Western Kansas Community Foundation (WKCF) Match Day

WKCF offers a $100,000 match pool, with gifts matched proportionate to the total amount raised through the event. Contributions between $20 and $2,000 are eligible for matching.

How to Participate:

In-Person Match Day Event: Join us at the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 1106 N. Main, Garden City, KS, on December 2 from 7 AM to 7 PM. Laptops will be available to assist with online donations.

Online Donations: Click here to donate online. Credit card, debit card, ACH, and Mobile Pay donations are accepted.

Exciting Prizes:

Surprise Supporter Prizes will be awarded to one online donor and one in-person donor at the end of the event.

Golden Belt Community Foundation (GBCF) Giving Tuesday Campaign

GBCF provides up to $70,000 for a percentage match, with gifts up to $5,000 eligible for matching.

Ways to Participate:

Mail-in Donation: Send your donation to Golden Belt Community Foundation, PO Box 1911, Great Bend, KS 67530.

Online Donation: Donate online between November 1 and December 2 at GBCF's Giving Tuesday Portal.

Drop-off Locations:

Visit the office at 1307 Williams Street, Great Bend, KS.

Drop off at several bank locations on December 2 ONLY, from 11 AM to 2 PM. View Bank Locations .

Several prizes will be given out throughout the day on December 2.

• Casey and Michael's Adoption Story: After facing infertility, Casey and Michael found a new path to parenthood through our adoption services program. With guidance and support, they welcomed Natalee into their family, experiencing the joy and fulfillment of adoption. Casey shares, "Everything we'd hoped for and dreamed for was literally laying in my arms." Your Giving Tuesday donation helps us keep adoption fees low, making dreams of parenthood accessible to more couples like Casey and Michael.
• Lakin's Birth Parent Story: Lakin's journey through open adoption highlights the enduring bonds created through love and selflessness. Her relationship with her son and his adoptive parents showcases the beauty of open adoption. "I knew that I needed to do what was best for the baby," Lakin shares. Your support helps us offer guidance and support to birth parents, adoptive families, and children, creating loving families and lifelong connections.
• Nathan's Journey to Recovery: Nathan's story of recovery from addiction and homelessness is a testament to resilience and the power of community support. Nathan found stability and purpose, becoming a peer support worker and an advocate for others after his first encounter with Catholic Charities offered him not just shelter but a glimpse of hope. "It was actually my first sign of hope. They showed empathy. They understood I was in a bad place and did everything they could to help me." Nathan shares. Your contribution supports our Housing First model, providing a foundation for individuals to rebuild their lives.
• Linet's Refugee Experience: Linet's journey from being one of our refugee clients to becoming an Employment Specialist at Catholic Charities showcases her determination and resilience. "I was you eight months ago," Linet tells newcomers, using her experiences to empower others. Your donation helps us continue providing essential assistance to refugees and immigrants, ensuring they have the resources to thrive.
• Adner's Journey from Refugee to Resettlement Specialist: Arriving as a refugee, Adner faced numerous challenges but never lost hope. With the help of Catholic Charities, he navigated the complexities of resettlement, eventually becoming a Resettlement Specialist himself. Adner shares, "I know firsthand the struggles and triumphs of starting anew, and I am committed to helping others find their path to stability and success." Your generous Giving Tuesday donation enables us to continue offering vital support and resources to refugees like Adner, empowering them to build fulfilling lives in their new communities.
