At Catholic Charities, we offer a complete line of programs and services for birth parents, couples who are interested in adoption, adoptive families, and professionals. We are part of a national Catholic Charity network that has been looking after the needs of children, parents and families for more than 100 years. In southwest Kansas, we have been providing adoption services for more than 45 years, and we are licensed by the State of Kansas Department of Health and Environment to provide infant foster care and adoption services for birth parents and adoptive parents. For Birth Parents - we offer free pregnancy counseling services for all women regardless of age, income, marital status or religious affiliation. Pregnancy counseling offers emotional support, information, and skills to help you, and the father, to make the best decision for yourself and your baby. If you feel that you are not prepared to raise your child, our open adoption process allows you to continue to be a part of your child's life, while still creating the best opportunity for you and your child in the future. Click here to view some of the profiles of our couples who are waiting to adopt a child. We also offer post-adoption support; our job does not end once a placement occurs. Adoption is a committed life-long relationship. We also understand that adoption is an emotional and complex process. Our staff members have the expertise, experience and commitment to help you, and to be honest with you, from the beginning stages of inquiry through the entire adoption process. For Adoptive Families - Catholic Social Service understands that adoption is a lifelong process and an intergenerational journey. We are here to help serve all members of the adoption triad – adoptees, birthparents and siblings, and adoptive families – by providing comprehensive information and ongoing emotional support.
For Adult Adoptees and Birthparents - An increasing number of adult adoptees and birthparents are coming to Catholic Social Service searching for information about their birthparents or their adult children. Within the confines of the law and from our own records, Catholic Social Service can provide information, obtain an original birth certificate for those born in Kansas, conduct a Search/Reunion, and provide counseling for the adoptee, birth family, and adoptive parents. For Health and Counseling Professionals - We have partnered with Spaulding for Children to offer free trainings about the option of infant adoption for professionals who provide health and counseling services for pregnant women across the state of Kansas. Trainings are provided in a variety of formats and contact/CEU hours are available for qualifying participants. Click here for more information.blog comments powered by Disqus
